Thursday afternoon, the senator will tour the new Erik Ramstad Middle School, then speak during the open house for the new school scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
The Senators will showcase the great work UND is doing on UAS and highlight how North Dakota is one of the premier sites in the country for UAS because of the extensive education, research, and development of it throughout Grand Forks and the rest of the state.
The panel discussion, led by Heitkamp and Hoeven, will feature Congressman Kevin Cramer, Governor Jack Dalrymple, Lt. Tuesday morning Hoeven will lead a roundtable discussion focusing on the medical care needs of veterans in western North Dakota.
Tuesday afternoon, Hoeven will meet with Statoil executives to showcase the company’s investments in North Dakota and a plan to help Europe become more energy secure. Following the meeting, the senator and executives will hold a news conference starting at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Hoeven will hold a roundtable with the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce on the Farm and Small Business Expensing Tax Relief Act, which will adversely impact farmers and small businesses.
Thursday afternoon, Hoeven will hold a roundtable discussion regarding railroad safety with Heitkamp, Cramer, Dalrymple and Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. Officials from Fargo, Casselton and BNSF will also join the discussion.
Thursday evening, Hoeven will hold a second roundtable discussion with Heitkamp, Cramer, Dalrymple, Foxx and Director of the North Dakota Department of Transportation Grant Levi. Other state transportation officials will also join the discussion which will focus on the importance of rural transportation in highway reauthorization.
