Tour of Annie's House

January 04 2016 10:00 aaa

Senator Hoeven will tour Annie’s house in Bottineau, North Dakota’s first adaptive ski facility. Annie’s House accommodates the needs of skiers with both physical and cognitive disabilities from across North Dakota and Manitoba. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hoeven works to secure funding to support programs that improve the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities.

Gary and Jenette Nelson of Stanley, North Dakota built Annie’s House in honor of their daughter, Ann Nicole Nelson, the only North Dakotan that was killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2011. In partnership with the New York Says Thank You Foundation, the Nelsons created a plan and raised more than $1.5 million for the project.
