Senator Hoeven to Mark Grand Openings of NDSCS Career Innovation Center, Elinor Coatings’ Extreme Weather Materials Center
FARGO, N.D. – On Monday, August 18, Senator John Hoeven will mark the grand opening of the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) Career Innovation Center (CIC). The nearly $35 million project is supported by more than $12 million in federal funding that Hoeven worked to secure, with the center providing training and technical education to high school and college students, helping them to get a head start on their careers and meeting workforce demands in the region.
Later that day, Hoeven will discuss his efforts to advance the Aurora Center for Extreme Weather Materials, a new initiative from Elinor Coatings to meet the demands of military missions operating in harsh climates. The center comes in part as the result of the $20 million in federal funding that Hoeven worked to secure through his role on the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee for the company’s coatings and materials research to date. The event will kick off with tours of the Elinor and Aurora Center labs and conclude with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
