Senator Hoeven will speak at a press conference at Grand Forks Air Force Base. He will outline his efforts to advance Grand Sky, Grand Forks County’s new business and technology park, and welcome Lisa Disbrow, the Under Secretary of the U.S. Air Force, to Grand Forks. Following the press conference, Hoeven will oversee the signing of a joint use agreement between the U.S. Air Force and Grand Sky, which will allow them to share the base’s runway.
Since he served as governor, Hoeven has worked extensively to advance the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) industry in Grand Forks. He led the effort to help Grand Forks County advance Grand Sky and secure an enhanced use lease with the Air Force, including securing an anchor tenant for the park. He has also been working with senior Air Force officials to complete their review of the joint use agreement, which will allow the base and companies at Grand Sky to test products and train pilots for the next generation of UAS.
