Hoeven: We Need to Show Our Support and Gratitude For Veterans Every Day

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven will visit with veterans tomorrow at the Fargo VA Medical Center and will speak at the center’s annual Veterans Day Program at 2 p.m. In anticipation of the annual observance, Hoeven gave the following statement today to all veterans in North Dakota and across our nation and world.

“On this and every day, we are grateful for your service. We know that we cannot do enough to show our gratitude for what you have done for our country and for the world. You are our heroes, and, after your military service, we hope that you apply your leadership in service of our cities and states as well. May God bless all of you who serve our country, and may God bless America as we commemorate this Veterans Day.”

Hoeven also extends his congratulations to the Marine Corps, who celebrate their 236th anniversary today, and thanks them for their fidelity. The Corps were formed on Nov. 10, 1775.

As a member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has worked to secure federal funding for programs benefitting veterans.
