Hoeven Statement on EPA Ending "Sue and Settle" Practice
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced today that it will end the “sue and settle” practice.
“Under the Obama Administration, environmental groups were able to use the court system as a means to go around the formal rulemaking process,” said Hoeven. “We welcome the EPA’s announcement today that they will end the ‘sue and settle’ policy, which will help ensure that Congress maintains its proper oversight role and provide the public with a voice in the regulatory process.”
