Hoeven Announces Two Ag Research Grants to NDSU
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has awarded two grants to North Dakota State University (NDSU). NDSU will receive $500,000 to support the research and study of oats and challenges causing quality and yield loss as well as $180,000 to explore the enhancement of protein content in red spring wheat to ultimately improve grain yield stability.
“Agriculture research is important, and today’s grants will help advance efforts at NDSU to benefit farmers who produce these vital crops,” said Hoeven.
