Hoeven Announces More than $170,000 USDA Grant for NDSU

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded $172,339 to North Dakota State University (NDSU) to help fund food safety research.

“NDSU is a world-class research institution making remarkable advances in agriculture,” Hoeven said. “This USDA grant will help continue important food research and will enable NDSU researchers to continue helping to meet America’s food needs.”

The award is made available through the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) which is overseen by the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture. AFRI is part of the 2014 farm bill which Hoeven helped to author.
