WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the National Cancer Institute has awarded a $435,000 grant to North Dakota State University (NDSU). The funds will support research into the cause and basic nature of colon cancer, resulting in better prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
“North Dakota’s research institutions do vital work to enhance the quality of our lives and develop new technologies and practices across a wide range of fields,” Hoeven said. “This award supports continued efforts in our state to improve our understanding of cancer, helping to both prevent and treat the disease.”
