North Dakota plays a vital role in U.S. national security with outstanding men and women in uniform conducting missions at Minot Air Force Base, Grand Forks Air Force Base, and Cavalier Air Force Station as well as National Guard facilities across the state.

Given Minot’s critical role as the nation’s only dual-nuclear base with both nuclear bombers and ICBMs, I’ve worked to secure funding to modernize our nuclear forces and ensure they remain a strong deterrent to our adversaries. We’ve built Grand Forks into a leading hub for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), with cutting-edge research and development at Grand Sky, and the essential intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission at Grand Forks Air Force Base to keep our military at the forefront of technology.

Cavalier Air Force Station’s 10th Space Warning Squadron provides critical missile warning and space domain awareness, enhancing our defense. North Dakota’s National Guard units also play a key role in both state and national security, responding to emergencies and supporting defense efforts worldwide. As a member of the Senate Defense and Military Construction-VA Appropriations Committees, I am proud to advocate for our military members and ensure North Dakota remains a key contributor to U.S. defense.
