On Friday, November 8, Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, will hold a roundtable and field tour with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation Bill Northey so he can hear directly from local producers and see the impacts of flooding and an early blizzard firsthand.
Immediately following the roundtable, Hoeven will hold a media availability with Northey and then leave for the field tour. Media are welcome to drive along in their own vehicles for the field tour, which will highlight the challenges of early snowfall and excessive moisture, including damage to crops and equipment.
