WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven released the following statement today after the President nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to serve as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States.
“We congratulate Judge Barrett on her nomination to the Supreme Court. Judge Barrett has an outstanding record of accomplishment as well as a strong record of upholding the law, rather than legislating from the bench. Also, she received bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate when she was confirmed to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. I look forward to meeting with Judge Barrett as the confirmation process gets underway.”
