Statement of Senator John Hoeven For Independence Day 2012

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in commemoration of our nation’s independence:

“As Americans across the country celebrate the birth of our nation, we give thanks and remember the extraordinary individuals who crafted the principles that still govern our land and have made our nation a beacon of strength and hope for millions of freedom-loving people throughout the world. This Independence Day also offers the opportunity to honor the important legacy generations of Americans have fought to preserve, especially our military service members whose courage and sacrifice has helped make the United States the most free and prosperous nation the world has ever known. We honor the legacy that has been entrusted to us and renew our commitment to upholding the principles of liberty and equality set forth by our Founding Fathers.”
