Klobuchar Makes Good on Goper-Bison Wager, Delivers Delicious Tater Tot Hotdish to Hoeven

Friendly wager between senators stemmed from bipartisan work on Red River Valley flooding solutions

WASHINGTON – Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today delivered her ‘award-winning’ Taconite Tater Tot Hotdish to Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) following the North Dakota State University Bison’s victory over the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Senators Klobuchar and Hoeven made a friendly wager on the outcome of the football game – Klobuchar wagered her hotdish and Hoeven wagered North Dakota-raised bison steaks.

Klobuchar and Hoeven have been working together to address flooding in the Red River Valley, which shares the border between North Dakota and Minnesota.

“The Bison may have won the game, but the real win comes when Senator Hoeven and his staff get to taste one of Minnesota’s finest dishes,” Klobuchar said. “I look forward to sampling some bison steaks in our next rematch!”

“I’m looking forward to digging a fork into this famous hotdish, and want to thank Senator Klobuchar for being a great sport,” Hoeven said.
