Hoeven: USDA Awards Research Funding to NDSU for Swine Welfare Practices

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has awarded $195,000 to North Dakota State University (NDSU). This grant will support efforts to improve animal well-being practices by reducing the stress on hogs as they are being transported.
