Hoeven Statement on Voting Against Debt Ceiling Proposal

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today issued the following statement after voting against a fast-track process for raising the debt ceiling.

“Democrats are trying to pass a massive tax and spend bill on a purely partisan basis without any Republican votes using the reconciliation process. Democrats control the White House, Senate and House and can use reconciliation to raise the debt ceiling on their own just as they are trying to do with their massive tax and spend bill. I will continue to oppose the Democrats’ tax and spend agenda.”
