Hoeven Statement on the Confirmation of Andrew Wheeler as EPA Administrator

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after voting to confirm Andrew Wheeler to be the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Wheeler has been serving as Acting Administrator since July. 

“Andrew Wheeler has the right experience and background to lead the EPA. Throughout his time at the EPA, including serving as Acting Administrator for the past six months, and as the staff director for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, he has shown strong leadership and a commitment to advancing common-sense rules and regulations.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Administrator Wheeler to advance a states-led regulatory approach that will help empower innovation and the development of new technologies to produce more energy with better environmental stewardship.”
