Hoeven Statement on the 15th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement to commorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11:

“Today, we honor the lives lost, both in the 9/11 attacks and also in the days since as our nation has sought to combat terrorism. While we reflect on the tragic events 15 years ago, we are reminded of the best qualities of our nation and our people.

“This day evokes the images of our first responders striving to protect their communities, even in the face of great danger. We recall the countless members of our armed forces, who sacrifice so much to defend their loved ones, their fellow citizens and the freedoms we all enjoy. We remember the sense of unity that pervaded our country.

“We strive to honor their memory by working, united, for a more peaceful and prosperous world.”
