Hoeven Statement on Signing of Abraham Accords

Senator Joined President Trump at White House for Signing of Peace Agreements Between Israel, UAE, Bahrain

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after joining President Trump at the signing ceremony for the Abraham Accords, peace agreements the Trump administration helped broker between Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.

“Today’s signing ceremony of the Abraham Accords, historic peace agreements between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain, will help to enhance security and prosperity in the Middle East,” said Hoeven. “We appreciate the President and his administration for their diplomatic work, and the leaders of Israel, the UAE and Bahrain for brokering these peace agreements. Under the Abraham Accords, the UAE and Bahrain will officially recognize Israel, a diplomatic move that will improve security in the Middle East and help to counter Iranian aggression. I appreciate the opportunity to join President Trump and leaders from these nations at this historic signing ceremony, and hope other nations in the region will join with Israel, the UAE, Bahrain and the U.S. to build greater security and prosperity in the region.”
