Hoeven Statement on Retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy

“We thank Justice Anthony Kennedy for his thirty years of service on the Supreme Court. Since his appointment by President Ronald Reagan, Justice Kennedy has ruled on many important cases affecting the everyday lives of the American people, and we appreciate his service to our country.

“As the confirmation process gets underway, we look forward to reviewing the president’s nominee and working to fill the Supreme Court vacancy with a Justice who will uphold the Constitution and the law.”
