Hoeven Statement on Observance of Memorial Day 2016

Senator to Speak Monday at Memorial Day Events

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in observance of Memorial Day. His public schedule for Monday, May 30th follows:

“Whether in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard or National Guard, active duty or reserve, the men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces reflect the best of America in their commitment to protect our nation. Today, we commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We all owe an immeasurable debt to those who have given so much to preserve our liberty and way of life. The friends and family of those in the service of our country also serve, and those who have lost a loved one know well the cost of freedom.

“We extend our deepest thanks to our men and women in uniform, and especially those who gave the last full measure to preserve the promise of freedom our forefathers fought and died for. May God bless them, and may God bless America.”

Senator Hoeven will speak at two Memorial Day events. In the morning, Hoeven will speak at a Memorial Day Program at the Heritage Center. Following the first observance, the senator will speak at a Memorial Day Observance at the Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
