Hoeven Statement on North Korea Summit

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today released the following statement after the summit between the U.S. and North Korea:

“I am pleased that President Trump sees an opportunity to reach an agreement to end North Korea’s nuclear program.  However, history shows we can’t take North Korea at its word, and we should keep maximum pressure on the regime through sanctions and pressure from China until we have ensured our security and that of our allies in the region.”
