Hoeven Statement on Confirmation of HUD Secretary

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement after joining the Senate in confirming Representative Marcia Fudge as U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

“Access to affordable and safe housing is a critical component of every community. HUD plays an important role in leveraging private investment to ensure the development of an adequate housing supply, as well as supporting local governments and tribes in building needed infrastructure and improving access to economic opportunities. Through my role on the THUD Appropriations Committee and as a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, I have worked to support these important efforts. Considering Secretary Fudge’s record of bipartisanship, I will work with her to find common ground and continue advancing these priorities on behalf of communities and tribes in North Dakota.”
