Hoeven Statement on Being Named to Farm Bill Conference Committee

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today released the following statement after being chosen to serve on the farm bill conference committee. Hoeven was named to the committee as he is the fourth highest ranking majority member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.

“I look forward to working with members of the House and Senate conference committee to finalize the farm bill and get it in place as soon as possible,” Hoeven said. “We’ll work to ensure that the final farm bill reflects our priorities, including strong crop insurance, improvements to the Agriculture Risk Coverage program, strong support for agriculture research and greater access to capital. Good farm policy will help ensure that our nation’s farmers and ranchers can continue to provide Americans with the highest quality, lowest cost food supply, which benefits every American at the dinner table, every day.”
