Hoeven Receives Seven Seals Award for Work to Support National Guard and Reserve

BISMARCK, N.D. – Today, the North Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) awarded Senator John Hoeven the Seven Seals Award in recognition of his support of the National Guard and Reserve forces. This award is presented at the discretion of the ESGR State Chair and honors Hoeven for his work both as governor and senator to promote ESGR’s mission and advance the cause of those in the Guard and Reserve.

“The men and women in the North Dakota National Guard and in our Reserve services remain vigilant and ready to serve, even while working in the civilian workforce,” Hoeven said. “The consistent training they need to uphold their commitment means these courageous individuals often spend their free time working to defend our nation and protecting our communities from natural disasters. One way we can show our appreciation to them is by supporting ESGR, and it truly is an honor to receive this award and help advance the cause of these brave men and women.”

Established in 1972, ESGR is a Department of Defense program that aims to help those in the Guard and Reserve resolve conflicts with their civilian employers due to military commitments. ESGR also works to promote employer support for military service. More than 4,500 volunteers throughout all 50 states work to promote ESGR.
