Hoeven Receives Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award

Senator is Co-Chair of the Senate Air Force Caucus

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, co-chair of the Senate Air Force Caucus and a member of the Senate Appropriations Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Committee, today received the U.S. Air Force’s Distinguished Public Service Award presented by U.S. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James. The award is in recognition of Hoeven’s work to support the Air Force, its airmen and their families during his time in the Senate.

“I am honored to receive this award,” Hoeven said. “The men and women in our Air Force work tirelessly to protect our freedoms and advance American priorities throughout the world. We will continue our work to ensure they have the tools they need to keep our nation safe.”

During the presentation ceremony, the following statement was read:

“Senator Hoeven has exhibited extraordinary leadership and vision that has ensured that America’s Air Force remains the preeminent air, space and cyberspace force in the world. As co-chair of the Senate Air Force Caucus, Senator Hoeven worked tirelessly to promote Air Force priorities and ensure a shared understanding between senior Air Force leaders and his fellow Senators. Moreover, his support to a myriad of other operational and quality-of-life improvements clearly demonstrates his dedication to the men and women of our air force. Senator Hoeven’s outstanding, career-long contributions have ensured an enduring heritage and unlimited horizons for the United States Air Force.”
