Hoeven Presents NDSU Football Team with Senate Resolution to Honor Championship Season

FARGO, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today presented the NCAA Division I National Championship North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison football team with a Senate resolution honoring their championship season. The U.S. Senate unanimously passed the resolution, introduced by Senators Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp, which recognizes the hard work and accomplishments of the NDSU coaches and players and the support of the NDSU alumni and fans.

“It is a pleasure to present the NDSU Bison with a copy of a Senate resolution recognizing the team’s tremendous season that culminated with their third consecutive NCAA Championship,” Hoeven said. “This resolution stands as a formal recognition of our state’s pride and appreciation for the incredibly talented Bison who have captivated the nation with their tremendous skill and heart. I’m honored to join the many fans and alumni who comprise Bison Nation in extending my congratulations to everyone who has lent to this team’s success. Go Bison!”

Hoeven presented the resolution to NDSU President Dean Bresciani, Athletic Director Gene Taylor, team coaches and players. The text of the resolution is available here.

The Bison won their third Division I national title in Frisco, Texas, on January 4, defeating the Towson University Tigers of Maryland 35 to 7.
