Hoeven: New Parking Ramp Key Milestone as we Work to Fulfill $70 Million Federal Funding Share for Hector International Airport Terminal Expansion

FARGO, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today joined local, state, and federal leaders to mark the ribbon cutting for a new parking ramp at Hector International Airport. The project is part of a broader terminal expansion to increase airport capacity and improve service for the growing Fargo-Moorhead region. The full expansion will include a new parking garage with an elevated walkway, an expanded terminal with nine gates, and upgraded apron space, and is expected to be completed in 2027.

As a member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has secured $53 million in federal funding for the terminal expansion to date and is working to deliver the remaining $17 million needed to fully fund the project.

“The Fargo region is growing fast, and that means more travelers, more flights, and more demand for modern infrastructure like this new parking ramp. With around 1,000 parking spaces, this garage is an important milestone in increasing the capacity of Hector International, complementing the ongoing terminal expansion,” said Hoeven. “Importantly, we’ve worked to secure $53 million in federal funding to advance this expansion, and we’re pushing to deliver the final $17 million needed to complete it. This investment will help Hector International keep pace with record traffic and support continued economic growth across the region.”
