Hoeven: Nearly $6 Million Awarded To Repair ND Roadway Damage From Flooding

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Highway Administration is awarding the North Dakota Department of Transportation nearly $6 million in grants to repair widespread damage to culverts and roadway erosion on state and county roadways from flooding due to rain and snow. Specifically, the grants include:

  • $4,777,883 for severe flooding in Eastern North Dakota beginning in April 2022.
  • $900,000 to repair roadways damaged due to flooding from above average snow melt in 2023.

“This almost $6 million in funding will support much needed repairs for state and county roadways in North Dakota that have been damaged by flooding and erosion. It’s imperative that North Dakotans are able to travel safely throughout our state,” said Hoeven.
