HOEVEN MEETS WITH TOP U.S. AIR FORCE COMMANDER

Senator Offers Support to Military, Advocates for Leading Role for ND Bases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator John Hoeven today met with General Raymond Johns, Commander of Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, regarding issues affecting Air Mobility Command and North Dakota military base missions.

During the course of the meeting, Hoeven expressed his support for the Air Mobility Command global mission, which provides support for both military and humanitarian operations throughout the world. The Senator also advocated for basing new air refueling tankers at the Grand Forks Air Force Base, as well as continued support for Unmanned Aerial Systems there.

“General Johns is doing an outstanding job for our nation, providing life-saving support for our troops and allies alike around the world,” Hoeven said. “I know he holds Grand Forks Air Force Base in high regard, and I look forward to working with him on a tanker mission and also continued support for our UAS mission at the base.”
