Hoeven Congratulates Bison on Today's Historic Fifth NCAA Division I Football Championship Win

FRISCO, TEXAS – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement congratulating the North Dakota State University Bison football team’s historic victory over Jacksonville State (Ala.) Gamecocks to win the FCS national championship. The Bison’s 37-10 win marks the first time any team has won five straight national football championships.

“The NDSU Bison cap a great season not only with a championship win, but a place in division history by winning five in a row. The Gamecocks played a strong game, but Bison quarterback Carson Wentz led an outstanding offense, while the Bison defense didn’t let much get by them. It was a thrill for me and Mikey to be at the game. Go bison!”

“Congratulations to NDSU coach Chris Klieman and the entire Bison team for another remarkable performance. We also want to thank the Jacksonville State Gamecocks for being truly great opponents.”
