Hoeven Announces USDA Workforce Training Funds to Two North Dakota Colleges

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has awarded $500,000 to Dakota College at Bottineau and $458,839 to Bismarck State College. Today’s funding supports hands-on education opportunities and workforce training for students at Bismarck State College interested in operating custom crop applicators and students at Dakota College of Bottineau interested in producing and marketing specialty crops.

“It’s vital our students have access to proper certification and training for their careers,” said Hoeven. “Today’s funding will support workforce training opportunities at both community colleges to provide students with experience and proper certification pertaining to careers involving agribusinesses.”
