Hoeven Announces DOL Funding to United Tribes Technical College, North Dakota Tribes

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), through the Employment and Training Administration, has awarded Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding to United Tribes Technical College and four tribes in North Dakota. Details are as follows: 

DOL WIOA Adult Funding for Native Americans

  • Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians – $297,394
  • United Tribes Technical College – $232,770
  • Standing Rock Sioux Tribe – $218,418
  • Three Affiliated Tribes – $182,429
  • Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe – $150,874 

DOL WIOA Youth Funding for Native Americans

  • Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians – $127,328
  • Standing Rock Sioux Tribe – $123,349
  • Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe – $74,275
  • Three Affiliated Tribes – $55,706

“These grants support access to job training services and resources and will assist tribal members, students and employers with meeting workforce needs,” said Hoeven.
