WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded the following grants:

  • Standing Rock Sioux Tribe – $900,000 awarded from the Office of Violence Against Women, to respond to and assist victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault as well as ensure perpetrators are held accountable.
  • Mountains Plains Youth Services Inc. – $750,000 awarded from the Office of Justice Programs, to enhance services available to survivors of human trafficking.
