Hoeven Announces CARES Act Economic Recovery Grants for Tribes in North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded three grants to tribes in North Dakota. These funds are made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will support the tribes’ efforts to recover from the economic impacts of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Details of the awards are as follows: 

  • Spirit Lake Tribe - $150,000.
  • Three Affiliated Tribes - $150,000.
  • Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians - $150,000.

“Today’s grants will support three tribes in North Dakota as they work to strengthen the resilience of, and safely re-open, their local economies,” said Hoeven.
