Hoeven Announces $800,000 Grant for Bismarck Airport

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $800,000 to the City of Bismarck to fund an update of the Bismarck airport’s master plan and layout plan. The update will help the airport address key issues, objectives and goals related to its future development.

“North Dakota’s transportation needs continue to grow at a rapid rate,” Hoeven said. “Bismarck’s airport has continued to see a high demand for air travel. Today’s grant from the DOT will help officials at the Bismarck airport meet this demand by planning for expansion and development.”

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven works to support programs that invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of North Dakota’s growing population and commerce. Earlier this month, Hoeven announced more than $9 million in DOT funds to build and repair airports in Tioga, Garrison and Dickinson.
