Hoeven Announces $1,000,000 in Federal Funding for Grand Forks Regional Airport Authority

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $1,000,000 to the Grand Forks Regional Airport Authority to rehabilitate its runway and taxiway lighting systems. The updates will enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.

“As North Dakota’s economy continues to grow, so have our state’s transportation needs,” Hoeven said. “Today’s grant from the FAA will help to ensure safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions, which is important to maintaining pilot and passenger safety.”

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven works to support programs that invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of North Dakota’s growing population and commerce. Earlier this month, Hoeven announced more than $9 million in DOT funds to build and repair airports in Tioga, Garrison and Dickinson.
