At a public meeting this afternoon, Senator Hoeven will join local leaders from Fargo-Moorhead in pressing Maj. Gen. Michael C. Wehr, Commander for the Mississippi Valley Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to continue moving forward on permanent flood protection for the area. Maj. Gen. Weher assumed command of the division this past August, and today’s meeting provides Hoeven and local leaders the opportunity to update the new commander on the project and ensure the Corps takes the steps needed to begin construction.
