BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today joined his Senate Republican colleagues in opposing threats to pack the U.S. Supreme Court and, in a letter to the Supreme Court, urged the Justices to faithfully and impartially follow the law when taking up cases and issuing rulings.
“It is imperative that the Supreme Court Justices follow the rule of law and do not issue rulings based on political pressure. The independence of the judiciary is an important safeguard for our Constitutional rights, and we will work to ensure the court’s structure is maintained and not threatened for partisan gain,” Hoeven said.
