Hoeven Announces $255,000 in Grant Funds for UTTC Minority Business Center

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, has awarded $255,000 in grant funds to the United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) to deliver strategic business consulting and deal-making services to eligible minority business enterprises to encourage job creation and retention. The funds are awarded through the MBDA’s Business Center Program, which provides minority entrepreneurs with one-on-one assistance in writing business plans, marketing, management and technical assistance and financial planning to assure adequate financing for business ventures.

“Small businesses are the engine of our economic growth,” said Hoeven. “We need to make the right kind of investments that create a pro-growth environment for our small business. Programs like the minority business center at UTTC provide our entrepreneurs with access to important services, like training and technical assistance, to establish, grow and sustain their businesses.”

As a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven is working to secure funds that empower economic growth and support small business development.
