Hoeven: HHS Awards More than $2 Million to University of North Dakota

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded $2,100,000 to the University of North Dakota (UND) to support its Rural Assistance Center (RAC). The RAC works to ensure that rural communities have quality health and human services by providing access to the full range of relevant and available programs, funding and research.

“As a gateway to information on rural health for residents in rural areas, it’s important to ensure that UND’s RAC receives the support it needs,” Hoeven said. “This funding will allow the RAC to obtain critical technical assistance so it can better meet the health needs of North Dakotans living in rural areas.”
