Hoeven: FAA Awards Nearly $21 Million to North Dakota Airports

Funding Supports 21 Projects Through Airport Improvement Program

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $20.9 million in funding for 21 airport infrastructure projects across North Dakota through the Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Program (AIP). As a member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has secured funding to advance airport development projects and strong federal investments in transportation infrastructure to benefit communities across North Dakota.

The funding will support the following projects:

  • Hector International Airport (Fargo) – $3.4 million – Expand terminal with additional gates
  • Minot International Airport – $3 million – Realign taxiway
  • Devils Lake Regional Airport – $2.6 million – Rehabilitate runways and taxiways
  • Jamestown Regional Airport – $2.1 million – Reseal runway and taxiway pavements
  • Mandan Regional Airport – $1.6 million – Rehabilitate roads, apron and taxiways
  • Rugby Municipal Airport – $1.3 million – Rehabilitate runway and taxiway
  • Lakota Municipal Airport – $1 million – Reconstruct runway and taxiway lighting systems
  • Carrington Municipal Airport – $900,000 – Reconstruct runway, taxiway lighting and approach systems
  • Williston Basin International Airport – $830,000 – Replace snow removal equipment
  • Pembina Municipal Airport – $700,000 – Reconstruct runway lighting and navigation systems
  • Crosby Municipal Airport – $600,000 – Construct new aircraft storage hangar
  • Barnes County Municipal Airport (Valley City) – $553,926 – Reseal apron and taxiway pavements
  • Rolla Municipal Airport – $530,489 – Reconstruct runway, taxiway and lighting systems, and replace lighting vault equipment
  • Hillsboro Municipal Airport – $450,000 – Construct new aircraft storage hangar
  • Northwood Municipal Airport – $355,956 – Construct new aircraft storage hangar
  • Kindred-Davenport Regional Airport – $300,000 – Replace snow removal equipment
  • Walhalla Municipal Airport – $150,247 – Update airport layout plan and conduct survey work
  • Cavalier Municipal Airport – $150,000 – Design for reconstruction of center apron pavement
  • Langdon Municipal Airport – $150,000 – Reconstruct terminal access road
  • Bottineau Municipal Airport – $95,000 – Design for new aircraft hangar
  • Stanley Municipal Airport – $57,000 – Design work to reseal runway, apron and taxiway pavements

“These grants are an important investment in the safety, efficiency and long-term viability of airports across North Dakota,” said Hoeven. “From runway and taxiway improvements to terminal expansions and snow removal equipment, these projects help ensure our airports can continue to serve our communities, support economic growth and meet the needs of travelers and businesses across our state.”
