WASHINGTON - Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a $3 million grant to Bismarck Municipal Airport to mitigate wetlands and create protection zones adjacent to runways. The objective is to enhance safety by draining nearby wetlands to prevent waterfowl from flying into the flight path of aircraft.
