Hoeven Selected for Defense Appropriations Committee

Senator Continues as Chairman of Agriculture Appropriations

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that he has been selected to serve on the Defense Appropriations Committee, a key position responsible for funding the Department of Defense, including North Dakota’s Air Force bases and National Guard.

“Our military does a tremendous job keeping our nation safe and we look forward to supporting our men and women in uniform as a member of the Defense Appropriations Committee,” said Hoeven. “Given North Dakota’s defense instillations – the dual nuclear mission at Minot Air Force Base, Grand Forks’ UAS expertise and our Fargo Air Guard – this position is important for our state and will help us to better support these defense communities.”

The senator will continues as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Related Agencies.

Hoeven’s Appropriations Committee assignments are now as follows:

  • Agriculture, Rural Development and Food and Drug Administration – Chairman
