Hoeven: North Dakota's Dennis Haugen Named to EPA Agriculture Committee

Senator Advanced Haugen’s Application to Serve on FRRCC

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committeeand a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, today announced that Dennis Haugen of Hannaford, North Dakota, has been appointed to the Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC) under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The FRRCC provides independent recommendation, information and advice to the EPA administrator regarding agriculture and rural communities. Earlier this year, Hoeven sent a letterof support to EPA on behalf of Haugen’s application to serve on the FRRCC. Haugen serves as President of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association.

“As a longtime farmer, Dennis Haugen has the knowledge and experience to provide valuable advice and recommendations to the EPA on environmental issues impacting agriculture producers,” said Hoeven. “We appreciate Administrator Wheeler for appointing Dennis to this committee and look forward to his efforts advocating for the interest of farmers and ranchers in North Dakota and across the nation.”
