Hoeven Announces Nearly $200,000 in Funding to Support North Dakota Law Enforcement & First Responders

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has awarded a $199,992 grant to the State of North Dakota’s Information Technology Department. The funds will be used by the state to help maintain and expand the nationwide public safety broadband network (NPSBN), which is used by law enforcement and first responders.

“We are grateful to those who have dedicated themselves to public safety,” Hoeven said. “Today’s funding will help ensure we have the communications infrastructure in place so that law enforcement and first responders can continue to effectively keep our communities safe.”
