WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded more than $3.3 million in grants for airports in Mandan and Jamestown. Details of the funding are as follows:

  • Mandan Municipal Airport $2,101,000 – The funds will be used to install perimeter fencing.
  • Jamestown Regional Airport $1,277,000 – The funds will be used to rehabilitate one of the airport’s runways and taxiways, as well as to improve a runway safety area.

“The airports in Mandan and Jamestown are particularly important to general aviation in those communities,” Hoeven said. “Today’s funds will help improve airport safety for both pilots and passengers.”
