Hoeven Announces CARES Act Funding to ND Higher Education Institutions to Help Students Impacted By COVID-19

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Education will award a total of $11,438,044 to institutions of higher education in North Dakota to help students and colleges and universities impacted by coronavirus. The funding is made available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will be awarded to universities and colleges to provide emergency grants to students. This is the first tranche of payments to the institutions, with the second round of funds expected in the coming weeks.

“These funds will provide assistance to students who have been impacted by the coronavirus,” said Hoeven. “We appreciate the Administration distributing these resources to universities and colleges in North Dakota, enabling them to assist students who are facing health and economic impacts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
