Daily Senate Schedule for Thursday, January 24, 2019
The Senate will next convene at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24 after standing in recess at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, January 23.
Following the Leaders’ remarks, the time until 12:30 p.m. will be equally divided between the two Leaders or their designees.
A procedural VOTE will occur.
Pursuant to a unanimous consent agreement, on Thursday it will be in order for cloture to be filed on two amendments to H.R. 268, the vehicle for the End the Shutdown and Secure the Border bill. At 2:30 p.m., there will be up to two VOTES on:
1) Cloture on McConnell (for Shelby) amendment #5 (text of the End the Shutdown and Secure the Border bill); and
2) If cloture is not invoked, cloture on Schumer amendment #6 (same text as H.R. 268).
Please note that further roll call VOTES are possible this week.
On Tuesday, January 8, a motion to reconsider the first failed cloture vote on the motion to proceed to S. 1, the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East bill, was entered. In addition, on Monday, January 14, a motion to reconsider the third failed cloture vote on the motion to proceed was entered.
