GRAND FORKS, N.D. – On Monday, February 16, Senator John Hoeven will hold a press conference with leaders from the region’s unmanned aerial systems (UAS), space and defense contracting industries to discuss a new upcoming initiative in Grand Forks to help connect small businesses with military research, development and procurement opportunities. As a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, Hoeven worked to fund the initiative in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations legislation, part of his efforts to strengthen the missions of the Grand Forks Air Force Base and grow the region’s tech ecosystem.
